Om Kothari Institute of Management & Research (OKIMR), Kota invites applications for admission to its MBA, MBA (Lateral Entry), BBA and BCA programmes for the Academic Session 2026–27.

Admission Cycle

The admission cycle generally commences in April, after the declaration of the Class XII results and the final-year Graduation results, as applicable. Admissions remain open until the date prescribed by the Rajasthan Management Admission Process (RMAP), Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota, and other competent authorities.

For the Academic Session 2026–27, admissions to MBA, MBA (Lateral Entry), BBA and BCA will close on 13 September 2026, subject to the instructions/guidelines of the competent authorities.

1. Admission to MBA – First Year

Admission to the MBA First Year may be made through the following routes, as per the applicable rules and approval of the competent authority:

A. Through Rajasthan Management Admission Process (RMAP) Counselling

Candidates may participate in the Rajasthan Management Admission Process (RMAP) Counselling for admission to the MBA program. Candidates are advised to refer to the latest RMAP guidelines regarding:

● Minimum educational qualification

● Category-wise relaxation

● Reservation provisions

● Sports quota provisions

● Counselling and seat-allotment procedure

● Other applicable admission requirements

B. Direct Admission

Eligible candidates may seek admission directly at the Institute, subject to the applicable RMAP rules and approval.

C. Management Quota

Admission against 15 Percent Management Quota seats may be made as per the applicable rules and subject to the prescribed approval of RMAP and other competent authorities.

Eligibility for MBA – First Year

Candidates seeking admission to the First Year of the MBA programme must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

● Passed a Bachelor's Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized institution/university.

● Obtained at least 50 percent marks in the qualifying examination

● 45 percent marks are required for candidates belonging to the eligible reserved categories.

Category-wise Relaxation

For the purpose of relaxation in minimum academic qualification, the eligible reserved categories include:

● Scheduled Caste (SC) ● Scheduled Tribe (ST) ● Non-Creamy Layer Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) ● Non-Creamy Layer More Backward Classes (MBC-NCL) ● Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

Candidates claiming relaxation must produce the relevant valid certificate/document as prescribed by the competent authority.

Age Limit

As per the applicable AICTE admission provisions, no age limit shall be prescribed for admission to the MBA program, unless otherwise specified by the competent authority.

Sports Quota – MBA First Year

Sports Quota admission is applicable for MBA First Year for eligible Rajasthan domicile candidates, as per the latest Technical Education Sports Policy of the Government of Rajasthan.

Candidates seeking admission under the Sports Quota must fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions and submit the required undertaking/documentation in the prescribed format.

2. MBA – Lateral Entry

Admission to Second Year / Third Semester

Lateral Entry to the Third Semester (Second Year) of the MBA Programme shall be implemented from Academic Session 2026–27.

Admission will be governed by the applicable guidelines of Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota, AICTE and other competent authorities.

Eligibility for MBA (Second Year) Lateral Entry

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

Eligible Qualifications

Candidates who have passed any of the following may be eligible:

● B.E./B.Tech., or

● BBA/BMS of 4-year duration with the prescribed NCrF Level 6 qualification, as per the applicable AICTE provisions.

Minimum Marks

Candidates must have:

● Obtained at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying examination.

● 45 percent marks in case of candidates belonging to eligible reserved categories.

Lateral entry admission shall be made against vacant seats available after enrolment in the MBA program in the previous academic session, subject to applicable rules.

Reservation provisions shall be applicable as per the prevailing government/university regulations.

Mode of Admission

Admission shall be made as per the guidelines issued by Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota and other applicable regulatory provisions.

Duration

The MBA Lateral Entry program shall be of one academic year, with admission directly into the Third Semester.

Bridge Course

Students admitted through lateral entry shall be required to compulsorily qualify the prescribed Bridge Course as per RTU norms.

3. Admission to BBA & BCA – First Year

Admission to BBA and BCA First Year may be made through:

A. Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) Counseling Process

Eligible candidates may participate in the RTU BAP/Counseling Process, as applicable.

B. Direct Admission

Eligible candidates may also seek direct admission at the Institute, subject to the applicable RTU rules, eligibility requirements and approval of Rajasthan Technical University, Kota.

The eligibility criteria prescribed under the applicable AICTE Approval Process Handbook and RTU regulations shall be followed for admission to BBA and BCA programmes.

A candidate must fulfil any of the applicable qualification requirements given below:

1. Class XII / 10+2

The candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination with:

● Minimum 45 percent marks in the qualifying examination

● 40 perecent marks for eligible candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, MBC, SBC, PwD and EWS categories, as applicable.

2. ITI / NCVT Equivalent Qualification

A candidate who has:

● Passed Class 10th

● Completed a two-year or more course recognized by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT)

● Passed the prescribed English examination at the Class XII level from the Board of Secondary Education/Rajasthan State Open School, Jaipur,

may be considered equivalent to Class XII for further education, subject to the applicable rules
