A State Government recognized body conducts many events to introduce social awareness amongst students and also in areas  nearby OKIMR on burning issues of the day like Aids, HIV, Female feticide, evils of tobacco & drug consumption, environmental issues, cancer,  disuse of plastic bags etc.

The Institute has an active Unit of NSS actively engaged in Socio-cultural activity.
